Re: How to prepare for SBI Clerk Exam?
SBI stands for State Bank of India. SBI is the top public sector bank in India which is introducing advanced banking services to customers.
Hence the customer base for SBI is high when compared with that of other public sector banks. So, the volume of recruitment is also heavy from SBI every year. Every year SBI will announce the notification for the recruitment of PO and Clerical positions. This year also SBI has announced the notification for the recruitment of clerks. The selection procedure for these positions is by -Written Exam -Interview The written exam consists of questions from the following categories -Reasoning -Quantitative Aptitude -General Awareness -General English -Computer and Marketing knowledge. Reasoning and Numerical or Quantitative Aptitude are the areas which will be given high importance in the evaluation. So, try to have good preparation for these 2 areas and finish all kind of problems from these areas. Make sure that you score minimum of 80% of marks in these areas. To be strong enough in these areas, you need to have repeated practice. Don't leave any kind of problem by thinking that you are strong enough in that. Whichever the problem it is, how difficult it is, don't neglect practicing it. The more practice you have, the less time it will take to solve that question. We can't expect what kind of questions will be asked in General English. So, I suggest you to build up good vocabulary by learning 5-10 new words every day. Simultaneously, improve your grip in solving the questions from Comprehension. To be strong enough in General Awareness, gain and update the knowledge on the following areas -National affairs -International affairs -Bilateral affairs -Sports -Persons in News -Awards -Books and Authors etc. The competition is very high for SBI Clerk Exam. So, use the time judiciously in the written exam. Don't stick yourself for minutes and minutes in solving a single problem in the written exam. Try to answer more questions in less time. Wish you all the best. |

Re: How to prepare for SBI Clerk Exam?
hi friend,
There will not be specific tips for preparation. -Prepare for the exam or practice exams whenever you feel free or you mind is fresh. -Even if you don't have or have the habit of early morning study, inculcate that. Spend that time in preparing for these exams. -Practice as many times as possible. Because practice makes a man perfect. The more practice you have, the less time it will take to answer the questions. -Concentrate on topics which have more weightage like problem figures, statements and conclusions, seating arrangement. -While solving the problems of aptitude, try to maintain speed that too with accuracy. -What ever the topics you have gone across while preparing for the general awareness, just discuss them with your friends, so that you can gain more points which you don't from them. -For SBI, marketing aptitude will also be there. Where you will be subjected some fundamentals regarding marketing. Concentrate on them. Anyway recently in the month of January,2011 SBI clerk exam was over. good luck |

Re: How to prepare for SBI Clerk Exam?
As part of your preparation for SBI clerk exam, you should first be thorough with the syllabus and pattern of the exam. You need to start your studies on that basis. You need to practice questions by referring model question papers. Besides this, there are many competitive books written by RS Agarwal, Arihant publications, Jain publications etc. which you can make use for studies. If interested, you can also attend bank coaching classes too. Mock tests will also help to know your level of knowledge and improve upon them further.
