A graduate in any discipline is eligible to apply for Indian Police Service.
In order to join the Indian Police Service, one needs to qualify civil service examination conducted by Union Public Service Commission. The Civil Service Examination comprise of three stages including two stages of written examination and an interview. The notification regarding the examination is published in all the major Newspapers of India as well as on the official website of Union Public Service Commission. Candidates willing to write the exam may apply online through www.upsconline.nic.in. The online application form at the given site is made available as per the schedule published in the notification.

You need to write the IPS Examconducted by UPSC(Union Public Service Commission) exam for joining in as a IPS officer.

This exam is conducted every year.

Being a graduate you can apply for the IPS Exam as regarding the education qualification needed for the IPS Exam.

IPS - Indian Police Service

Selection Procedure:

• Preliminary exam.
• Main exam.
• Interview

Eligibility Needed:

>> Candidate need to be a citizen of India

Age limits:

>> The candidates must have a age limit of 21-30 years.

>> For SC/ST candidates it is 21-35 years.

>> For OBC candidates it is 21-33 years.

Education Qualification:

>> The candidates must have a degree from a recognized university in any discipline.

>> Final degree exam can also apply for this exam.


Attempts Allowed:

You may be given a certain allotment for attempts and they are,for general candidates it is 4 and for SC/ST there is no limit and for OBC candidates it is 7.


You can apply for the exam wither Online or Offline

Minimum Educational Qualifications are:
The candidate must hold a degree of any of Universities incorporated by an Act of the
Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an
Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University Under Section-3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification.

Age :- 21 years to 35 years, age relaxation for reserved candidates as per Govt guide lines i.e 3 years in upper limit for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST candidates.

No. of Attempts:- 4 for General , 7 for OBC and no limit for reserved categories,PH,ex service men

Can i use to write bengali in ips exam?

If you are a Graduate in Bengali honours then you can apply for IPS examination.

Just take care that your age is between 21 to 30 years when you are applying for it.

There is age relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST , 3 years for OBC category.

The exam is known as Civil Services examination through which you can become IPS officer. So you can apply for Civil Services examination when the notifications are announced in the Employment news and UPSC official website.
