I'm studying B.Sc. (Maths) in 2nd year. How can I study and prepare for NIMCET? I am very much interested in MCA entrance exam.

NIMCET Exam is being organized by NIT's every year to give admission for MCA course in NIT's.

This is a national wide exam and there is more competition for this Exam since MCA from NIT's is very valuable and offers good job opportunities.

This Exam consists of questions from the following 4 categories :
Mathematics
Analytical and Logical Reasoning
Computer Awareness
General English

There would be 120 questions in the Exam. Each correct answer will carry you 4 marks.

Also there is negative marking in the exam. For each wrong answer, 1 mark from the actual marks you scored will be deducted.

Below are the preparation tips which would be useful to score more in this Exam.

In Mathematics section, you can expect questions from Algebra, Trigonometry, Calculus etc.

To score high marks in Mathematics, you should be thorough with all the formulas, squares, cubes. So, write them only a paper and memorize daily so that you won't forget it.

Also practice sample question papers and previous year question papers to increase your speed.

For Analytical and Logical Reasoning, questions would be diagram based and logic based.

So, the only way to score more in this section is by having good practice of variety of questions.

Under Computer Awareness, all the basic questions would be asked. So, you can purchase any good book and prepare for it.

For General English, please focus on Vocabulary by reading News Papers and watching News Channels and try to use those words in your daily conversations.
