CAT and MAT are both very prestigious and well-known entrance exams to crack if you want to pursue post graduation degree in management. While the CAT exam is conducted by the IIMs, MAT exam is conducted by AIMA. By giving both the exams you will get a chance of studying in the top B-Schools in India.

To sit for both the exams you need to be a graduate at least. You have the liberty to complete graduation in any discipline of your choice. While for MAT getting 40% of marks at UG level is more than enough (35% for SC/ST) for CAT exam you need to secure at least 50% of marks at UG level. For SC/ST candidates it is 45% of marks.

For both the exams there is no restriction on age criteria. So you have the option to give this exam whenever you want to after completing graduation. Even final year students are also eligible.

Selection procedure basically includes written exam, group discussion and personal interview. After considering the marks of all the stages the final decision will be taken by the authority.

Mainly the exam in both the cases is an objective type. For CAT following areas needs to be stressed upon:

• Verbal Ability
• Reading Comprehension
• Problem Solving and Data Interpretation.

For MAT Exam following areas needs to be given special importance:
