Course Description
IIT KGP offers M.Tech. Degree in Aerospace Engineering. The programme focuses on the theoretcial and practical aspectsof Aerospace Engg. and covers essential topics like Aerodynamics and Flight Mechanics. The duration of the PostGradaute programme is 2 years.
Eligibility
The applicant must have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Master's in Science.
The candidate must have a valid GATE score.
Admission Procedure
For M. Tech. programmes, a selected number of candidates will be called for a written test and/or interview.
M.Tech. admission, a selected number of candidates will be offered direct admission based on their GATE score.

hi raghava,
it seems that you are not interested in GATE exam, is it so?
then change your attitude. though it is tough to face it, but see, it is very essential.
most of colleges consider your GATE score for their entrance.even if you go for a job recruitment, they also prefer your GATE performance.
no one expect hi scoring in GATE from you.they just checking, how a tough guy you are! they just want to see your performance at this much level of difficulty.
so, now you change your attitude towards the GATE exam.it might be a milestone in your career.just check yourself. be confident.
answering particularly to your question, the COEP (College of Engineering,Pune), then GECA (Govt.College of Engineering, Aurangabad-Maharashtra), etc. these colleges conduct their own entrance exam parallel to GATE. even they also consider your GATE scoring.so, anyhow it is essential for you to appear for GATE. the level of difficulty of their own entrance exam is very near to that of GATE. if you can tackle the challenge of GATE, can tackle easily that of these institute level private exam very smoothly.
so, change your attitude & do appear for GATE.

There are only two ways to enter in M.Tech.
1. either through GATE .
2. or sending through your companies like GAIL,BHEL,SAIL etc.

As you have no any job experience & want to join M.Tech but without GATE score.

Then it is not sure that you will get good college but you can get average college.

The only one thing you can do, you can take admission in any private college under the management/NRI quotas.
Private college reserve some seats for such quotas, so you have some chance.

. IIITs: These institutes are deemed universities and conduct their own test for M.Tech admission test.
TANCET (Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test):

This exam is conducted by Anna University for admission to M.Tech and other PG courses in its affiliated colleges.
Post Graduate Common Entrance Test (PGCET) Karnataka:

This exam is conducted by Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) for admission to M.Tech and other PG courses
Post-Graduate Engineering Common Entrance Test (PGECET):

PGECET is conducted by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University on behalf of APSHCE (Andhra Pradesh state higher education council) for admission into M.E. / M,Tech./M.Pharm./M.Arch / M.Plg. (full time) in University and affiliated Engineering colleges in A.P.

There are a lot of colleges providing M.TECH courses in different branches like computer science engineering , electronics and communication engineering, electrical and electronic engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering etc..

The entrance exam for M.TECH courses will be held on february month 2nd sunday , and the exam is GATE.
