hi iam doin my b.tech in food technology in mit college i just want to know what to do after b.tech in food technology or what are the jobs that should be done after my degree

The students after completion of this course can get high profile jobs with handsome salary in private firms as well as in government sectors. They can work as many food production workshops with fair salaries.

There are many career prospects that one can pursue after B.tec. in food technology. A Food Technologist can get the job of Quality Assurance Manager, Production Manager, Laboratory Supervisor, Food Packaging Manager etc.
The Major industries to provide such jobs are Hotels, Food Industries, Packaging Industries and Soft Drink factories.
Apart from these one can also get a job of a Research Associate in Premier institutes, Universities and research and development units.
if you pursue for post graduation in this department then you can qualify as lecturer or advisor in Government colleges, inspection board and quality control cells.
Companies like Hindusthan Lever, Kellogs, Amul, Cadbury etc. recruit food technologists periodically to bring about an improvement in their products.
Enterpreneurship offers lucrative prospects especially in food processing business.
The food firms of the foreign countries like United States as well as australia give special preferences to the Indian candidates.

For M.Tech non other then IIT's and IISC. And for MBA non other then IIM's and secondly IIT's.

After IIT's for M.Tech we can conclude NIT's and IIIT's. Similarly for MBA Institutes like- SP Jain, Amity University, Anna University, ISB etc.....

after doing b.tech. you can be offered a job in some named food companies .

you can also look for some higher degree corses is doing a master degree from some colleges but it should totally based on your interest .

you can also look for admission in some bussiness schools.

or u can aslo pursue mtech. from the same field .

you can also look for admissions in iit's through exam conducted by it named iit jam .

or can also look for bits mesra or ranch . their are several options to go for it .

After B.Tech (Food Technology), you can opt for M.Tech (Food Technology) or some different courses in the same field are M.Tech/M.sc Microbiology, Biotechnology with specialisation in Foods etc. But these types of courses are rare in India and also tough to get job satisfaction.

So, after B.Tech best option is MBA in Production or Food Technology, after which various good job prospects are available for you like-

Production Manager

Food Packaging Manager

Product Development Manager

Processing Technologist etc in some Food & Brevarage companies like- Amul, Knor, Kissan, Dabur, ETC.........

You can go for jobs in food manufacturing companies. They are also demanding you such people, who have taken food technology as the main subject.Otherwise you can go for higher studies like MBA in food technology. I think after your MBA , you have much better chance of getting into jobs.

you can get jobs in amul , parle etc. kind of companies with nice package

First of all let me know what acctually you want to do.........!

Job or Higher studies?
If job then as mentioned by kshitijawadhiya you can get Job into such Companies.

But to make your career prospect more glorious and payful it is better to go for higher studies and opt for B.tech. You can do so through Lateral Entry Scheme.

It will make your career prospect more brighter.

You can opt for B.Tech Food Technology, Biotechnology with specialization in Foods.

So, think upon it weather you want Job or Good Career prospect.,

B. Tech in food tecnology has good future because of increasing demand of food production and problem of storage. So be Relaxed about your futur. If u want to do job right now at this stage u have chances both in private and govt. sector. There are different advertisements for jobs in Food corporation of India, Amul, Britania and other food processing units.

U could go for M.tec or MBA in food technology for better oppurtunities in this sectors from IITs or IIMs.
Furthure could pursue resarch work in this sector.

There is a lot of wastage of foodgrains every as the data indicates now and then in newspaper only just due to lack of proper storage and processing and people go on hungry.

When you talk about salary package after doing MSc Biotechnology its really going to matter that to which place you joined it and from where you completed the course and the amount of knowledge you have.
If you are really a talented student in this sector you don't have to think of salary!. But any how it will be something around 20, 000 as starting. Yes it can vary according to organisations and surely increase once you have experience.
Doing MSc Biotechnology is really a good decision as it has its scope in near future.!!!

Amul.
Britannia.
metro dairy.
and in many other food company. You can get a job as packing manager,
production manager , product development manager etc and if you want to do higher study then you can do M.tech(food technology).

This goes to nupoor and all the other job aspiring people... Food Processing Industry is known as the SUN RISE INDUSTRY.... Even though its not as mature as the IT industry.. a food technologist is a promising career.... okay now lets get down to business

1. Job Opportunities :
(i) There are ample amount of jobs available in the industry.. try to get in contact with resource people before you pass out .. as it gives u an edge over the others.
(ii) Do industrial training and join for summer internships.... many companies offer internships during summer vacations.
(iii) Post your resumes in job sites ... but only 2 months before u pass out .
(iv) LAST BUT NOT THE LEAST ... TRY YOUR MAXIMUM TO DO your 4TH YEAR PROJECT IN A INDUSTRY / COMPANY.... cuz most of the time the company ll offer you a post ... based on ur performance... (make sure you impress them )


Salary :" Well you have to learn to walk in order to run"....
