This is Priyanshu Chaudhary a resident of Marta Pilerne Bardez Goa I will be answering my board exam on 1 April 2016 and it is my dream to join IAF I wanted to know about the minimum age to apply for IAF and the entrance exams I will have to answer.
Its a request to you to please let me know the answers of my questions.

If you wish to join IAF then you should appear for NDA exam.

UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) conducts NDA exam twice a year with the name NDA I and NDA II .

NDA stands for National Defense Academy.It has three wings;

Indian Military Academy.

Indian Naval Academy.

Indian Air Force Academy.

Eligibility criteria for NDA exam :-

Nationality : Indian.

Age limit :16.5 years to 19.5 years.

Marital Status : Unmarried male candidate only.

Edu. qualification : 10+2 for Indian Military Academy and 10+2 with Physics,Chemistry and Mathematics for Indian Naval Academy and Indian Air Force Academy.

Selection process :

Written examination

Personal interview by SSB.

Physical requirements :

Height : Must not be less than 157.5 cms.

Weight : should be in proportionate with height.

Chest: Must not be less than 81 cms with a minimum expansion of 5 cms.

Eye Sight : 6/6 in both eyes .

AFCAT or Air Force Common Admission Test is the Air Force Entrance exam.

You can appear for IAF entrance exam after completing your graduation only.

In fact, you can appear for this exam in your final year of graduation as well.

There are three sections to join through this exam:

• Flying Branch
• Ground Duty Branch
• Technical Branch

Minimum age to apply for these sections are:

• Flying Branch - Age: 19-23 years.
• Ground Duty Branch - Age Limit is 20-23 years.
• Technical Branch - Age: 18-28 years.

If you want to join Indian Air Force than the minimum qualification required is 12th with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as the main subjects with aggregate of 55% marks and relaxation of 5% is given to reserved categories. You have to appear in the NDA examination. Age limit should be in between 16.5 to 19 years and no relaxation in upper age limit is given to reserved categories.

Minimum age required to apply for IAF entrance exams:-

Age should be between 16.5 years to 19 years

There is no age relaxation for reserved categories in this exam

Only unmarried male candidate are eligible to apply for this exam.

You need to appear for the Air Force Common Admission Test(AFCAT),if you want to become an officer in the Indian Air Force (IAF).
Eligibility for AFCAT exam:
>>You must be 19- 23 years old can apply for Flying branch and 18 to 28 year old can apply for technical branch.
>> Graduate with 60% can apply for this exam.
>>Minimum Height should be162.5cms for both men and women.
ii) Vision- Minimum Visual power should be 6/6 in one eye and 6/9 in another.

*The minimum age required to apply for Indian Air force is 16.5 years. You can apply for National Defence Academy entrance exam after 10+2.

*Candidates who have done 10+2 or appearing for board exams can apply for NDA/NA exam. Age limit is 16.5-19.5 years. Only unmarried male candidates can apply for examination.

*You will have to clear written test and SSB to join Air Force.
