Is NEET going to be held twice a year now?
My PCB aggregate percent is 50% and overall is 52%. Can I apply for NEET? Will I face any problem in taking admission in college through NEET? Further, I'm reading in newspaper that from now NEET will be conducted twice a year. Please, update me on this the current scenario of it.

NEET stands for National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test.
It is conducted on first Sunday in month of May by CBSE(Central Board of Secondary Education) for admission in MBBS/BDS course. Eligibility to appear in NEET-UG - >Candidate must have passed Higher Secondary from any recognised board with subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-Technology and Core English scoring more than 50%in PCB. >Candidates appeared in final examination of Higher Secondary with the above mentioned subjects and awaiting for results can also apply. >Candidate must attain age of 17 years on or before 31st December in the year of admission in 1st year of MBBS/BDS course. >Upper age limit for appearing in NEET-UG is 25 years on the date of examination. Candidates who have passed or appeared in Higher Secondary from Open School or as private candidate are not eligible. The matter of conducting NEET-UG twice in a year is still under consideration. No decisions have been taken yet regarding this matter by Ministry of Human Resource Department. A meeting will be held on 18th Aug 2018 where final decision may be taken. There is also a possibility that NEET-UG 2019 will be conducted in online mode only. |

According to the official announcement by HRD Minister. The national level entrance exams JEE and NEET will be conducted twice a year by NTA. But it will be fully online based.
A student can appear either or both the exams but the one with higher marks will be considered for counselling. NEET will be conducted in February and May. |

Yes, you are eligible for NEET exam.
NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) is a national level entrance exam conducted for giving admissions into MBBS, BDS and medical related courses into different universities. Earlier NEET was conducted by CBSE once in every year but from 2019 this exam is conducted by NTA (National Test Agency) twice every year. The eligibility criteria for NEET exam is mentioned below: - The candidate should be a citizen of India. - The age limit should be between 17 - 25 years for general candidates. - There is 5 years age relaxation given for reservation candidates. - The educational qualification required is a 10+2 in PCB subjects with minimum 50% from any recognised board. - There is 5% relaxation available for reserved candidates. Union HRD Minister Prakash javadekar on Saturday announce that the NEET and JEE exams will be conducted twice a year. While NEET will take place in February and May, JEE exams will be conducted in January and April respectively.
This is going to applicable from 2019. |

Starting with your 1st question, for NEET one need to have a minimum of 50% aggregate in PCB in 12th standard. So, yes you can apply.
To your 2nd question, NEET scoring does not take into account your 12th standard marks. Your 12th marks is only needed during application form fillup. For your 3rd question, yes, NEET is going to be conducted twice a year from 2019, in february and may for academic sessions beginning in august of that year. So a candidate can choose either of the months to attempt the test or can choose to repeat the test if the previous score did not come satisfactorily. |

NEET is National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test. The examination is conducted by CBSE.
Till now there is no final decision regarding 2019 examination. So, till now there will be single NEET examination in 2019. The HRD ministry opinon that the student taking away their extra burden would leave CBSE with some space to focus on improving the quality of education amd innovating curriculum.
The NEET exam will be conducted atleast twice in a year. Eligibility criteria: Qualifying exam - 10+2 or equivalent with physics ,chemistry ,biology and english as core subject in both. 11 and 12 from recognized board. Minimum age limit-17 years Maximum age limit- 27 years Qualifying marks- UR-50%, OBC/SC/ST-40% PWD-45% Maximum attempt-no limit |
