Currently, I am pursuing my 1st year of B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering. I want to change my stream. So, is it possible to change stream from Mechanical Engineering to Civil Engineering in the middle of my 1st year as I have not appeared for my 1st year final exam also?

You can not change your stream of engineering in middle of first year of engineering. Stream change option is available after completion of first year of engineering.

There are certain conditions to be met for stream change. For example, you must not have any standing backlog in first year of engineering. Minimum of 60% marks in first year of engineering. Third condition is availability of seats in stream in which you are interested.

You can write an application to your department for stream change after first year of engineering.
