As per the guidelines of Directorate General of Shipping, In order to pursue Marine Engineering, the maximum age limit is 28 years. Apart from being within 28 years, one must fulfill the following eligibility criteria:

• Must have passed 10+2 examination from a recognized board.

• Must have studied the following subjects in the higher secondary level:

Physics
Chemistry
Mathematics
English

• Must have score a minimum of 60% in aggregate in the subject combination of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
