Postal Assistant Exam Details:-

The department of post as you must be knowing is one of the largest department in India and in this department over five lac employees works. There are almost 22 postal circles in India and it has further sub-divisions. The work of a postal assistant is mainly restricted to disposal of mails with maintaining its records. But the duty may change in each department where the placement will be done.

The selection procedure of this exam is slightly different as the whole process is not entirely dependent on the written examination which is conducted. Along with that weightage is also given to the class 12 board exam marks and the computer and typing test which is conducted after the written exam.

Thus in short the selection procedure is somewhat like this:-

1. 40% weightage to class 12 board exam marks
2. 50% weightage to written exam marks
3. 10% weightage to computer and typing test

Now as far as the educational qualification for this post is concerned you just need to possess 12th class passed certificate from the recognized board in India. 60% of marks in addition to that needs to be secured at 10+2 level.

You need to have English as compulsory subject in class 11 and 12. Plus you should have computer typing skill. Typing speed in Hindi should be 25 words and 30 words in English per minute.

Minimum Age Limit:- 18 years
Maximum Age Limit:- 27 years

For the written exam stress needs to be given to the following areas as mentioned below:-

• General Knowledge
• Mathematics
• English
• Reasoning and Analytical Ability

In addition to that there will also be a computer typing test to give as well. You need to write either an English paragraph of 450 words or a Hindi paragraph of 375 words and the minimum typing speed should be 30/25 words. The total duration of this exam is one hour.

Pay-Scale:- The pay scale/ salary of the postal assistants is Rs. 5200/- to 20,200/- plus grade pay of Rs.2400/-.

Educational Qualification required for Postal Assistants and Sorting Assistants is 12th standard with above 60% marks .

Your age should be in between 18 to 27 years old.You must know your local language very clearly .

Postal Assistant Written Exam pattern :-

Total Marks- 100
Total no. of Questions- 100
Time Duration- 2 Hours.
