If you have completed 10th OR 12th standard OR graduation degree then you are applicable for VAO exam but you age should be in between 21 to 30 years old.Age relaxation is provide as per govt rule But you must know the Tamil language.

Age should not be more than 40 years a rule mandatory for both the general candidates and SC/ST and OBC candidates.

TNPSC VAO notification has already been released by the Tamil Nadu Government in their official website: http://www.tnpsc.gov.in.

Number of Vacancies:

The number of vacancies right now is 1870. The list below gives you an idea about the districtwise vacancies.



Educational Qualification:

For this exam minimum general qualification is required basically. Thus you should have passed SSLC Public Examination or its equivalent to sit for this exam. Even if you possess higher qualification you still have to pass SSLC exam otherwise you will not be eligible. Along with that you should be well versed in Tamil language or local language.

Age Criteria:

The minimum age limit for all categories is 21. The upper age limit for general category is 30 and for the reserved categories is 40.

Selection Process:

TNPSC VAO exam's selection process is solely based on written exam and personal interview session. Therefore lot of stress and importance should be given to this exam and preparations needs to be taken accordingly.

Exam Pattern:

The written exam basically consists of two sets of question papers and questions generally comes from general knowledge, general english and general tamil. The duration of the paper is 3 hours and the total marks alloted is 300. You have to get minimum 90 marks to qualify.

Application Process:

You have to apply for this exam before or on 10th of August 2012. After successfully completing the registration process you have to print the challan and deposit the money at post office or Indian Bank. General category candidates needs to pay Rs.125 and reserved category students Rs. 50.

The exam will be asked on the topics related to the subjects in General Knowledge, General English and Tamil. Therefore the candidate must prepare themselves well in these subjects.

Time duration – 3 hours

Minimum marks to qualify – 90 marks
The aspirants have to achieve a minimum of 90 marks in order to qualify this exam.
