Re: Procedure to become a scientist in NASA after B.Tech (Civil)?
Dear are you really serious about exlporing your career in 'Space Science'..!
If so then why you had taken admission in Civil Engineering. There is no need for Civil ngineers in Space Science or organisations like- NASA, CERN, ISRO etc. for space related jobs. Then you have to acquire anyone of the following degree from a good institute like IIT or IISC or IIST (most suitable). P.hd (Astro physics). P.hd (Geophysics). P.hd (Metaphysics) I mean to say any branch of physics which leads to space science, these are few examples. You can persue these degrees from IIT's or IISc,after acquiring these degrees from there you can appear for entrance conducted by NASA at international level for recruiting Astronauts,Scientists etc.You can also work with our country's ISRO various entrance are cionducted by ISRO for recruiting Scientists and engineers for carrying Space reasearch or various jobs. M.tech/P.hd (Aerospace engineering) M.tech.P.hd (Aeronautical engineering) Even if you wont able to get through IIT's then alos no need to worry. Apart from IIT's and IISC, following are also best ones for Master and Post Master courses:- Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai Aryabhatta Research Institute of Observational Sciences, Nainital Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences, Mumbai Homi Bhabha National Institute, Mumbai Harish-Chandra Research Institute, Allahabad Indian Institute of Astrophysics, Bangalore Institute of Physics, Bhubaneswar But I am not sure if you can fit the respective institute eligibility regarding there admission into MAster and Post Master courses, as you are a Civil Engineer. I would also suggest all the askers to Read a Article "Astronaut Selection Process" HERE I am sure it will be much helpful for all of you. Also checkout the FAQ's about NASA selection process Regards ~Faiyaz~ |
