also Candidates appearing for Degree qualification are also eligible for appearing in the examination, however, they are supposed to submit proof of passing the requisite qualification along with with Detailed Application Form for Civil Services (Main) Examination.



Age limit for civil service exam is:

General category:
candidate must have attained 21 years and not be over 30 years on August 1 of the year of examination.

SC/ST:
up to a maximum of 5 years.

OBC:
up to a maximum of 3 years.

A general candidate can attempt Four times only.Where as Seven attempts of OBCs. And no limit for SCs/STs.

the other eligibility Criteria For IPS exam is

1. Age limits :

21-30 years as on date of the exam. (Upper age limit relaxable for SCs/STs, OBCs and certain other categories). For SC/ST candidates between 21 and 35 years of age.
For OBC candidates between 21 and 33 years of age.


2.Citizenship Eligibility for IPS

Candidate Must be a Citizen of India.

IPS is a civil sevice exam, which is conducted by UPSC every year..

Eligibility criteria for IPS:-
Educational qualification:-
*The candidate must have complete the graduation at least..
*the candidate should not have any due backlogs during graduation.

Age criteria:-
*The candidates age should be in between 21-30 years..
The age relaxation for SC/ST is 5 years, and the age relaxation for OBC is 3 years.

After fulfilling the criteria you can appear in IPS exam...

IPS is the acronym for Indian Police Service, another civil service sector that draws thousands of aspiring candidates. Admission to IPS can be obtained upon successful clearance of the all India competitive exam administered by UPSC.
1. The Preliminary Examination and
2. The Main Examination.

Now the eligibility criterion for this exam:
* You must be 21 years (minimum) and 30 years (maximum) at the time of taking exam.5 years extra for SC/ST and 3 years extra for OBC
* People belonging to general category can appear for IPS exam four times, while OBCs can appear for seven times but no limit has been set for SC/ST. keep in mind, even appearing in just exam is counted as an attempt.
* You also need to meet physical standards mentioned in application form.

The qualification required to give IPS exam one should be graduate and in 2013 the UPSc is going to conduct the exam and the notification will be given in feb regarding the same.
