IB ACIO exam is your opportunity to serve the nation by working for Intelligence Bureau. ACIO means Asst Central Intelligence Officer. This exam is conducted for ACIO post recruitment.

Established in 1885 Intelligence Bureau is the oldest and one of the most reputed intelligence agency in the world. After the independece of India in 1947, it came under the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The job of Intelligence Bureau is to gather intelligence from India to help in counter terrorism efforts of the country. Whatever information Intelligence Bureau gathers, it forwards it to other agencies like NIA and local police forces. Initially Intelligence Bureau was responsible to gather both internal and external intelliegence however its failure to predict 1962 China War and the 1965 Pakistan War lead to demand of a separate agency at that time R&AW was formed.

Working for Intelligence Bureau means that you would be dedicating your life to protect India from a terrorist attack. Intelligence Bureau uses all kinds of technology including email spy to gather intelligence.


Eligibility:-

Candidate must have at least graduation degree.

Age limit is 27 years for General

Upper age limit is extended by 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC.

ACIO II exam is conducted by Intelligence Bureau & the eligibility criteria for the same is as under-

1. A candidate’s age must be under 27 years on closing date of applications for IB ACIO-II Examination 2012.

2. Minimum Qualification : Graduation

Application Fee Details:
Applicants need to pay application fee of Rs. 100/- in form of Challan of State Bank of India or through Net Banking Facility of SBI or through Debit-cum-ATM card of SBI. SC/ST/Women candidates are exempted from payment of fee.

Pattern for IB ACIO II Exam:-

Selection is done via a Written Test comprising of two papers Written test Time limit: 1 hour 40 Minutes

Paper I:

Paper I is Objective type containing questions on
1. General awareness
2. General knowledge
3. English language
4. Reasoning
5. Mathematical aptitude

Paper II

Descriptive type consisting of:
a. Essay
b. Precis writing

IB ACIO II Exam Eligibility Criteria:-

• You need to possess a bachelor's degree in any discipline of your choice from a recognized university.
  
• You need to have knowledge of how to handle a computer. At least the basics should be known.
  
• The upper age limit for giving this examination is 27 years.
  
• There is however 5 years upper age limit relaxation for the SC/ST candidates and 3 years relaxation for the OBC candidates.

Examination Pattern:-

The written examination consists of two papers mainly an Objective Paper and a descriptive paper. For each paper you will get 1 hour and 40 minutes. That is the time duration allotted for each paper.

In the objective paper questions will come from the following sections:- General Awareness/General Knowledge, Reasoning, Comprehension and Mathematical ability. Paper II basically will verify your English writing skill and analytical capability.
