Scored low marks in B.Tech: Are all the doors closed for me after my B.tech?
This is my academic history:-
10th(CBSE)- 80.6% 12th(CBSE)- 84% B.Tech - 4.5/10 !!! With such low score in my engineering, I know that most of the doors are already closed for me now. I am not eligible for CAT, GATE or any other exam. I believe my degree is pretty much useless now. I did my engineering from one of the IITs and graduate recently. Right now I have taken up a job as an engineer(non-IT) which doesn't really pay that well, but I am happy for the time being. Yet, I have great aspirations. I wanted to do MBA and enhance my career. I still have some plans. Basically, what I can do is to enroll in some distance learning bachelors degree program (BA) from IGNOU or somewhere and then I can give CAT on the basis of my eligibility on that. How feasible is this idea? Also, what are the things I can do ahead in my life. Is there some reputed MBA course where my marks can be excused or some MBA type course? Regards, Shail |

Re: Scored low marks in B.Tech: Are all the doors closed for me after my B.tech?
Dont worry bro it happens. The doors are definately not closed. Someone said if 1 door closes god opens another door for you.
You have yourself mentioned the trick which can work. Try for that DLP BA course from IGNOU. I remember my friend is doing the same course and will be appearing for CAT. Dont mind but i guess your real prospect lies somewhere else than engineering. I guess you will be successful in MBA. So prepare hard for MBA entrance exams and give a shot and i am damn sure you wont repeat the mistake as this is a question about your career Now forget about your 4.5 GPA score. That will matter little but not much and can easily overlap that with your score in CAT and good performance. Cheers and best of luck |

Quote:
You said that you want to go for MBA from a reputed institute. So for that what you said is correct go for another degree and basing on that write the exam but before doing that work for a minimum of two years which will be an additional qualification + added advantage for the candidate who want to complete MBA degree from reputed institutes in India. With this point you can defend your self as a valuable candidate to study your MBA in the institute which you dreamed. If two years is not sufficient then make it one more year and have total three year job experienced candidate. I think you will give your good shot in CAT and from next step of filtration process in reputed institutes for MBA your work experience could help you. I think this could help you. All the best friend. |

Re: Scored low marks in B.Tech: Are all the doors closed for me after my B.tech?
Hello friend,
There is nothing to loose your hope like this. Good marks don't matter always, if you have the capability to turn things back to a right track, definitely you can. You can opt for management studies with your favorite specialisation or go for other career oriented courses like C-DAC which give well opportunities in future. In parallel to that course, improve your soft skill and communication skill, as these will help you to earn a good job in any sector. So don't worry, if you have the determination to do something forgetting the past, you must get success. Best of luck! |

Re: Scored low marks in B.Tech: Are all the doors closed for me after my B.tech?
Friend don't think so that all doors are closed. There are always some or othe other door open. as you told that you are in job it is good and your percentage marks has been at 10 and 12th so don't worry. what you are thinking to do Graduation from IGNOU first is a better option and then go for it. You have the calibre and you can do it so don't be tensed and accept the challenges of life .
Best of luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Re: Scored low marks in B.Tech: Are all the doors closed for me after my B.tech?
Don't worry friend.
not only you, many students are also got same percentage. even you got low marks, there are many jobs to you. learn courses which is related to your branch. because now a days some companies not required minimum percentage. if you learn courses in any institution, you will get good job.ok. and remember that now a days many students who are got 80% or 90% are also free.because some students don't have communication skills. so learn communication skills and personality development also. you must learn courses which is related to your branch.this is must. all the best. don't worry. definately god will bless you.so be happy. |

Re: Scored low marks in B.Tech: Are all the doors closed for me after my B.tech?
your 10 and 10+2 marks is very good. but engineering marks is low. but you should not be worried. just go ahead. if you want to do something with your engineering degree then i will suggest you do some courses from different institution. take proper training, increase your knowledge. then apply for job in walk in interview. there are so many company which give chance to the student who have less marks in B.Tech. first time you will get very less salary. but there explore your knowledge and gain some experience. after that with your experience you will get a good opportunity to serve in large company and you will surely get a good job with a high salary. best of luck.

Life is a huge concept, bad marks in Academics is a tiny part compared with life, Intelligence is not a natural gift,it need to be developed...
