I am pursuing BSc and preparing for the UPSC exam as well. I want to crack the exam in next 2 years and want to become IAS Officer only, but my father wants me to complete BEd first which is a 2 years course and is time taking and I don't want to wait for UPSC exam so long. What should I do? Should I pursue BEd or follow my heart and later pursue BEd if needed?

If you want to appear in UPSC IAS exam than you can appear directly after BSc.

If you want to go for BEd after BSc than also you are eligible to appear in UPSC IAS exam.

I would suggest you to follow your heart and go UPSC IAS exam just after BSc.
