Hello everyone, I am 23 years of age and completed my BTech course. I want to join Indian Air Force. Kindly let me know about the steps through which I can achieve my aim. Kindly let me know as soon as possible. Thank you!

To join Indian Air Force being a 23 years old B.Tech candidate, you have to appear in UPSC CDS examination. Eligibility criteria required to apply for CDS examination for joining in Indian Air Force is mentioned below :-

1. You should be a citizen of India.

2. You should have passed Bachelor's degree course in any discipline with Mathematics and Physics subjects at 12th standard level from a Government recognised board.

3. You should be in the age range of 19 to 24 years.

4. You should be an unmarried male candidate.

5. You should be physically as well as mentally healthy.

As you have completed your graduation (i.e. B.Tech), so you can join Indian Air Force through AFCAT exam.

AFCAT stands for Air Force Common Admission Test that is conducted every year twice.

Important Dates for AFCAT II exam:

• Notification release: 30th May 2018
• Release of online application forms: 16th June 2018
• Application deadline date: 15th July 2018
• Commencement of AFCAT Exam: 18th and 19th August 2018
• Result of AFCAT Exam: 9th September 2018

As the date for filling application forms is passed now, so you can apply for AFCAT I Exam of year 2019.

You have two entrance exams to clear and join Indian Air Force:

1. Air Force Common Admission Test.

2. Combined Defence Services.

The age limit for CDS is 19-23 years for Air Force Academy. It is 19-26 years for ground duty branch of AFCAT exam. Bachelor of Technology candidate can apply for both AFCAT and CDS exam.

There are two stages of exam which you need to clear written test and Service Selection Board.

Being 23 years old and B.Tech degree holder, to join Indian Air force, you need to either qualify AFCAT ( Air force Common Admission Test) or CDS ( Combined Defense Services) entrance examination. Both of these entrance examinations are held twice every year.

Further, for appearing in CDS entrance examination the maximum age limit is 24 years while the same for AFCAT is 24 years in case of flying branch and 26 years for ground duty branches. Also, you must hold the physical fitness as per the service requirement norms.

B.Tech candidates can join Air Force through AFCAT as well as CDS entry.

AFCAT examination is conducted by Indian Air Force. The examination is conducted twice in a year.

The age limit is 20-24 years and for some post the age is 20-26 years. The examination is conducted in two stages. Examination is conducted in two stages :- Written and SSB.

Yes, you are eligible to join Indian Air Force as an officer after qualifying in entrance examination conducted by UPSC and Air Force.

The eligibility to appear in the examination is that candidate must have passed bachelor degree from a recognised university.

You have to qualify in the written and SSB entrance examination for the final selection. As per your age limit you are only eligible to apply for AFCAT entry.

B.Tech is Bachelor in Technology and candidate passed the course are eligible to appear for entrance examination to get recruitment in Indian Air Force.

You can join Air Force through :-

AFCAT ( Air Force Common Admission Test ) entry.

CDS ( Combined Defence Service ) entry.

But it is late to join through the CDS entry and only eligible through AFCAT entry. You have to qualify in written and Service Selection Board ( SSB ) for the final selection.

Being a B.tech degree holder and 23 years old, to join Indian Air force (IAF) you basically have two options which are discussed below :-

--> You can join IAF through CDS ( Combined Defense Services ) by qualifying CDS entrance examination held by UPSC twice every year. The maximum age limit for appearing in the same examination is 24 years.

--> You can join IAF through AFCAT ( Air force Common Admission Test ) and for appearing in the same examination, the maximum age permissible is 24 years for joining flying branch and 26 years in case of Technical branch and ground duty branch.

Apart from educational qualification and age criteria, you must hold the nationality of India and physical fitness as per the service requirement norms to be eligible for these examinations.
