Dear friend,
AFCAT exam stands for air force common addmission test and this exam is totally mulitiple choice question test.To clear these exam you must have to practice hard on these topics:

*Numerical ability:these portion will strong only when you solve maths puzzle more and more.

*General knowledge test:These portion while become stronger by using upkar publication book.

*General awareness test:to strong these portion just go through daily hindustan times and india today's magazine.

*Reasioning type MCQ question's

*And the last but not least Verbal ability test totally based how much you have knowledge of english.

Total time for the exam is :2hrs.

Air force common admission test id conducted by the Indian Air force twice
in a year. This exam is of 100 marks and candidate will get 3 marks for every
correct answer. For each incorrect answer one mark is deducted.

The syllabus for the Air force Common admission test(AFACT) is given below:

(a) General Awareness – History, Sports, Geography, Environment,
Civics, Basic Science, Defence, Art, Culture, Current Affairs, Politics etc.

(b) Verbal Ability in English – Comprehension, Error Detection,
Sentence Completion, Synonyms, Antonyms and Testing of Vocabulary.

(c) Numerical Ability – Decimal Fraction, Simplification, Average, Profit
& loss, Percentage, Ratio & Proportion and Simple interest.

(d) Reasoning and Military Aptitude Test – Verbal Skills and Spatial
Ability.

It is advisable not to but any extra books for preparing AFCAT....

Because the syllabus of AFCAT is same as other competitive exams like MCA entrances, Bank PO, LIC etc...

So follow the entrance exam books of those exams and you can easily crack AFCAT.

you can also buy books for AFCAT preparation....

but the above books are enough to pass the AFCAT.

You don't need a list of books for that.

Syllabus for AFCAT Technical branch is equivalent to the all India national level syllabus.

it is equivalent to GATE syllabus.

if you can follow the whole gate syllabus then it will be easy for you to crack the AFCAT Technical branch.

AFACT is a Air Force admission common test conducted by Indian Army.

Syllabus of Air force admission common test are following:-
1)General/Basic Knowledge:-Environmental science,Dis.Managment,sports,Politics.

2.0 Test of English language.
3.0 Test of Numerical Ability.
4.0 Test of Reasoning and Military Aptitude Test.

Sir i am a final year student of B.Tech Mechanical Engineering, can i apply for AFCAT technical branch ?

yes final year students can apply 4 afcat minimum qualification is 3 year graduation frm any recoganised university

Dear Aspirant,

There are two branches in the technical post.

They are:

1) Aeronautical Engineer (Mechanical)

2) Aeronautical Engineer (Electronics)

So these are the only stream who are eligible for the Technical Job in the AFCAT.

Remaining stream are not eligible so you cannot apply for the AFCAT exam.

The subjects related to the above streams will be core subjects.Which they have studied in their Graduation.

So the subjects will be totally technical there will be a detailed information in the attachment attached below.

Note: Candidates who wish to apply for this post you need to have a minimum of 60% in the Under graduation.

Then only you can be eligible for these technical posts.

my branch is Applied electronics and Instrumentation, can i go the technical branch in afcat. it is applied electronics.

The full form of AFCAT is Air Force Common Admission Test. To join the Indian Air Force this exam needs to be given. It is open to both men and women and by giving this exam you can get a chance to enter any one of the following wings of your choice:-

• Flying Branch
• Technical Branch
• Ground Duty Branch

Educational Qualification:-

For the Flying Branch you need to complete graduation with not less than 60% of marks from a recognized university. You need to have physics and mathematics at 10+2 level.

For the Technical Branch you need to get a B.Tech degree in Aeronautical Engineering with not less than 60% of marks at UG level.

The Ground Duty Branch has three sub-categories:-

For Administration & Logistics Branch you need to be a graduate with not less than 60% of marks or a post graduate with not less than 50% of marks.

For Accounts Branch you need to complete B.Com and secure 60% of marks or you can complete M.Com with not less than 50% of marks.

For Education Branch you need to complete post graduation in any discipline with not less than 50% of marks.

Age Criteria:-

• Flying Branch:- 19-23 years.
• Technical Branch:- 18-28 years.
• Ground Duty Branch:- 20-27 years.

AFCAT Exam Pattern:-

Following topics needs to be given special importance:-

1. General Awareness- History, Sports, Geography, Environment, Civics, Basic Science, Defence, Art, Culture, Current Affairs, Politics etc

2. Verbal Ability in English- Comprehension, Error Detection, Sentence Completion, Synonyms, Antonyms and Testing of Vocabulary.
