Sir, my name is Adnan Fahad and I have completed my 12th board exam i.e., my Pre-University College (PUC) from Commerce stream. Can I get a job in Air Force? What type of jobs are available and how to apply for those jobs?

# After 10+2 in commerce stream, you have only option to join Indian Army though NDA Examination. Only science stream student can join Indian Air Force or Indian Navy through NDA Examination.


# Non-science background student can join Indian Air Force only after graduation as Officer (in Ground Duty Branches) by cracing the AFCAT Examination.


# AFCAT stands for Air Force Common Admission Test. AFCAT is conducted for the recruitment in the following branches:

* Flying Branch
* Technical Branch
* Ground Duty Branch


# Only engineer degree holder or graduate in subjects Physics and Mathematics are eligible for Flying Branch and Technical Branch of Indian Air Force.


# But Ground Duty Branch is open for all bachelor degree holders, even for non-science background degree students.


# So, AFCAT Examination can be even appeared by students who have completed their bachelor degree either in commerce stream or arts stream in order to get recruited only in Ground Duty Branch of Indian Air Force.

Having completed your Class 12th with Commerce stream, you can join Indian Air force only as a Airmen Y group as for other recruitment Mathematics and Physics as main subject at Class 12th level is required for must.

Further, to be eligible for the Airmen Y group entry, you are required to be an unmarried Indian male candidate with your age lying within 17 years to 21 years by the commencement date of your service. Also, you must have managed at least 50% marks in your Class 12th.
