VAO stands for Village Administrative Officers which is conducted by TNPSC.

If you have 12th standard OR graduation degree then you are applicable for VAO exam but you age should be in between 21 to 30 years old.

Age relaxation is provide as per govt rule .For the reserved category candidates there is age relaxation. The upper age limit for SC/ST candidates is 40.But you must know the Tamil language.

There will be two papers for the exam: General Knowledge and General Tamil/ English. You have to answer 200 questions altogether of 300 marks in three hours. The minimum qualifying marks for this exam is 90.

I have completed PUC(12th) exam with less then 60% i am interested in doing hardware course, which course shall i do...?

VAO Exam Eligibility Criteria:-

~To give this exam you need to have a secondary school leaving certificate. Even if you have higher qualifications it will be considered only when you show this certificate.

~Your age should not be less than 21 years when applying for this exam. The upper age limit for general category is 30 years and for reserved category it is 40 years.

~Proficiency in Tamil language is required since on getting selected you will be posted in the villages of Tamilnadu.

~You will have to sit for Tamil language exam and pass in it if you do not know Tamil at all.

~Medical certificates needs to be shown to the authorities concerned during examination time because only physically fit candidates will be allowed to give this exam.

~Selection procedure is largely based on the written exam so your target should be to score as many marks as possible in the written exam to increase your chances of getting selected.

~For the exam there will be two sections to answer: General Knowledge and General English/General Tamil. Three hours will be there to complete the whole paper and you need 90/300 marks to qualify.

~It should be remembered that out of the total seats vacant generally 30% are kept reserved for the women, 5% for ex-servicemen and 3% for physically disabled persons.
