To become a Chartered Accountant (CA), you have to appear for the three individual stages,

1. CPT (Common Proficiency test)
2. IPC (Integrated Professional Competence) Examination
3. Final Examination.

CPT Registration is mandatory for those candidates who have completed their intermediate examination. The Student can enroll for Common Proficiency test (CPT) just after 10th, but they can only appear for this examination after completing Intermediate (12th) examination.

Direct Entry for Graduates:

Graduates & Post graduate candidates can register directly for IPC Examination. Those who are from commerce stream, must have scored minimum 55% marks and for no commerce candidates, minimum 60% marks are compulsory in Graduation.

~~ You must have registered for IPCC at least 9 months before examination and must have completed Practical Training (Information Technology Training) of 100 Hours.

~~ It means you have to undergo for a practical training with ICAI after registration for the IPCC.

~~ Those who crack the IPC Programme are eligible for Articleship Training, The total duration of CA Course is 3 years.

~~ Last 1 year student can join for Industrial Training.

Those who completed the IPC Programme are eligible for the final examination only after completed the practical training (Articleship Training) under chartered accountant.

There are three stages of Chartered Accountancy:

1. Foundation course: You need to clear Common Proficiency test for it.

2. Second stage is Integrated Professional Competence course.

3. CA Final course.

For CPT, candidates who have done 10+2 can apply for it. If you are bachelor's degree candidate, you are eligible for IPCC directly.

The registration for IPCC should be done 9 months before examination and candidates must have completed practical training of 100 hours.

The total duration of Chartered accountancy is three years. After clearing IPCC, you can go for the Articleship Training.
