Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) conducts entrance for recruiting the candidates into police department.

The eligibility requirements for the police in Maharashtra are given below:

- The candidate should be a citizen of India.
- The educational qualification required is to complete graduation level degree from any recognised university.
- For Constable and other few posts the educational qualification required is 10+2 or its equivalent education from any recognised board.
- The age limit required is 18 - 25 years. The upper age limit varies based on the post like for sub inspector it will be 33 years and so on.
- There is age relaxation for reserved candidates based on the government rules like for OBC it is 3 years, for SC/ ST it is 5 years and for ex-service man it is 8 years.
