Quote:
In IAS entrance exam(Officially called as Civil Service Examination). which is conducted by UPSC Women candidates are benefited in different areas like Application fees and during the cadre selection. during the Service selection but there is no such Facility in the max age limit relaxation. they have to clear the examination before 30 years of age. only relaxation in age limit for OBC SC/ST candidates No BC candidates are also eligible for age relaxation. For OBC the relaxation is upto 3 years after the max age limit. for SC/ST candidates the relaxation is upto 5 years after their max age limit. And similarly there is no relaxation for the ex service men quota or anything else only the above categories like OBC/SC/ST are only eligible for age limit relaxation. This is all the information gathered from my sources. I'm correct upto 98% but there may be any recent amendment changes which makes sense of difference so Go through the other members answers also for the clarification. And I'll also provide you the official link of UPSC so go and look into it. you will get good knowledge according to previous notifications. I have gathered the above information from suck ilk of notification only. The official link is www.upsc.gov.in All the best Regards ~AdityA~ |

Re: What is the age relaxation for Women in UPSC IAS exam? Age relaxation for government service employees and ex serviceman's family members?
There are no such privileges or relaxation provided to women in UPSC IAS exam like reservation or age relaxation, other than those provided to male candidates.
Like male candidates of general category they have only 4 attempts provided and maximum age is 30 years to sit in the exam, i.e. candidate should not be above 30 years at the time of exam. The relaxations provided to SC/ST/OBC are same for women also. There are no other relaxations to female candidates. 3 years age relaxation to OBC candidates and 5 years to SC/ST candidates. |

the age relaxation has not been provided to the women or government service employees or to the ex-servicemen family members... The relaxation in age has been provided to the SC, ST and OBC candidates.. there is no specialisation for women in the civil services exam conducted by UPSC. For the general the age limit is 21-30 years..

Well sorry to say but there is no such relaxation is given to women and government service employees and ex serviceman's family members. The relaxation is only provided to the reserved caste students .
To become IAS you have to apply for the civil services exam which is conducted by the UPSC once a year .There are total 3 round in the civil service exam. 1.Preliminary :: This is the first stage of the examination .This is also called CSAT and its common for all students who are taking the civil service exam.Initially there used to be optional subjects in the prelims also but the UPSC have changed it and now there is no optional subjects. This exam is completely objective types and consists of two papers . 2.Main examination :: You can appear for this examination only if you clear the preliminary exam .There will be total 9 papers in the main exam. Before appearing for the main exam you have to choosed two optional subjects according to your interest .There will be 2 papers on each optional subjects .Its of total 2000 marks . 3.Interview ::After clearing the main exam there will be viva voice type exam .The students will get selected for the different post based on the rank in the merit and his area of interest . Eligibility :: You must have passed the bachelor degree in any streams from any recognized college. The students should be around 21 to 30 years and for SC/ST there is upper age limit of 35 years and for OBC upper age limit is extended to 33 years . Other then this there are no relaxation for any candidates . |

Re: What is the age relaxation for Women in UPSC IAS exam? Age relaxation for government service employees and ex serviceman's family members?
UPSC exam does not provide any age relaxation for women...but they provide age relaxation for SC/STcandidates (5 years) and OBC candidates ( 3 years).
They also provide age relaxation fof 5 years or ex-serviceman commisioned officers and ECOs/SSCOs who have rendered at least 5 years military services. But there is no age relaxation for govt. employees and ex-serviceman's family members. The normal age criteris is: Your age should be between 21 years and 30 years....the age is calculated on the basis of 1st of August of the year applying for it. Quote:
generally after marriage women sacrifice their life to their family and society also.since she has great responsibility to conceive and delivery a child. if once delivery/conceive the woman should spend three years to her child or she recovery as normal physical health its know to all human being through doctors.that is she could not spend her life in upsc exam studies also as men, at least 3 years in her life. so she may allow to get more upper age relaxation that is 5 years more than men upper age relaxation. why should not possible it?. why not all men can vote for it?. |
