It is difficult to tell which is best among CSE and IT as there is only minor subject difference between the two branches. Both the branches have a maximum number of similar subjects. Both the branches offer similar career opportunities. The only difference is of difficulty level.

CSE is slightly tough then IT. Also, there are slightly more opportunities for CSE students. So, I must suggest you to prefer Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) over Information Technology (IT) as the job scope are more than IT graduates in the government sector along with private enterprises.

CSE is a better course and after choosing this course you will get depth knowledge of software programming right from the basic. You can say that CSE is focus more on Computer Architecture. So, it's better if you can go for CSE because the career scope of Computer science engineering is good as compared to IT.
