Dear sir/madam,
I am a B.A English(honours) student giving my first year final exams under Calcutta University. I have given my 1st paper exam a disaster. I don't have a hope whether I could continue with my "honours". If I have to pass as a general candidate can I sit for the Government exams? Or can I apply for Post Graduation degree?

Yes after completing your garduation you can apply for different govt. jobs but your marks in the graduation is up to the eligibilty criteria set by the govt.
There are different type of Papers taken by State or Centre Govt.
In State govt you can apply for
1. Civil Services Exams
2. Clerical Exams
3. Sub ordinate Services Exams

There are not many career options for general graduates but you can certainly enter into the teaching field because there is always a dearth of teachers. Candidates who have completed graduation in any specialized field do not wish to enter this field so there is an advantage for you.
