Sir, I recently gave my 1st year exam of Polytechnic Diploma and unfortunately failed the exam. Will I get promoted to 2nd year or will I have to repeat the whole 1st year once again?

If you have been declared failed in the 1st year exam then you have to repeat it. Only in the case of backlog papers, you will be promoted to 2nd year. If there are any backlog papers then you can appear for them in 2nd year along with the course.

Just make that you are not declared failed then only you will be allowed to study in 2nd year. Generally, failing in one or two subjects will give you backlogs that can be cleared along with the course. If you have failed in more than 2 papers then it will be a failed result overall.
