What is the correct age of appearing for NEET and IIT exams?

My daughter is studying in 6th standard in CBSE syllabus and her date of birth is 15.04.2007. Would be she eligible to attend the examination of NEET/IIT in future? Is there any problems arise in her educational flow? Please reply.

NEET refers National Eligibility cum Entrance Test and IIT examination i.e; JEE ( Joint Entrance Examination ) are two national level examinations held for offering admission in undergraduate medical and technical degree courses respectively across the various top government or private colleges of India.

As far as you are concerned about the age limit for appearing in these examinations then for appearing in NEET the age of candidate should not be under 17 years by the 31st December of that year in which candidate is appearing in the same examination while in case of JEE the age candidate should not exceed 25 years by the 1st October of that year in which the candidate is appearing in the same examination. Age relaxation is allowed for reserved category candidates as per the government norms.

Being born on 15th April 2007 and studying in Class 6th your daughter is likely to appear in these examination in the year 2024 (as for appearing in these examination candidate is required to have completed his/her Class 12th in the required stream) and so she satisfy both the above mentioned age criteria and hence her age will not be an issue for appearing in these examination.

For more details regarding NEET you can refer to the link www.cbseneet.nic.in and for details regarding JEE you can refer to the link www.jeemain.nic.in.

For IIT:

IIT stands for Indian Institute Of Technology.

There is no much standard mentioned regarding the minimum eligible age to appear in the joint entrance examination conducted by the Indian Institute of Technology.

If your daughter will qualified 10+2 level of exam, you are eligible to write the exam.

The maximum age limit to appear for the exam is 25 years.

For NEET:

NEET stands for National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test.

The eligibility to appear for entrance examination is that the candidate must have passed 12th with PCB as main paper from recognized board.

The age limit is 17-25 years as on 31st December of year of appearing for examination with relaxation in upper age limit for reserved category.
