Re: What does Annealing mean?
Annealing, in metallurgy and materials science, is a heat treatment wherein a material is altered, causing changes in its properties such as strength and hardness. It is a process that produces conditions by heating to above the recrystallization temperature and maintaining a suitable temperature, and then cooling.
It was taught in class 10th. |

Re: What does Annealing mean?
ANNEALING :
Annealing is nothing but hardening something by heating. It may vary for different purposes as follows.. -> Mettalurgy - Annealing : is a heat treatment wherein a material is altered, causing changes in its properties such as strength and hardness. -> Glass - Annealing : Heating a piece of glass to remove stress. -> Biology - Annealing : DNA or RNA pairing by hydrogen bonds to a complementary sequence, forming a double-stranded polynucleotide. In this way the meaning of Annealing differs depending upon the usage.. hope the info. helps.. |

Re: What does Annealing mean?
Annealing:
Annealing terminology is widely used in different fields of science. Annealing in terms of biology is binding or pairing of DNA or RNA sequence to H-bonds of complementary strand forming double stranded structure. It is step widely used in PCR reactions. Annealing in terms of metallurgy is a heat treatment that alters the microstructure of a material causing changes in properties such as strength and hardness and ductility. Knowledge annealing is a network-based information system in which all users of the system are permitted to change the system at will. |

Re: What does Annealing mean?
Dictionary Mean :-
Annealing is a Noun Its Mean hardening something by heat treatment Its synonym can be tempering Bookish Definition :- The process used to render glass, iron, etc., less brittle, performed by allowing them to cool very gradually from a high heat Annealing is the process that takes place within a kiln, during a soak cycle. During this process, the temperature is slowly reduced so that the “stress” on the molecular level is removed the beads Below is the Annealing Machine |

Re: What does Annealing mean?
Hiiiii,
What does Annealing mean? Answer: - 1. Annealing is the process that takes place within a kiln, during a soak cycle. 2. During annealing process, the temperature is slowly reduced so that the “stress” on the molecular level is removed the beads. 3. Annealing means the burning of metallic colors into glass, earthenware, etc. 4. To heat glass or metal and then cool slowly to prevent brittleness. All the Best |

Re: What does Annealing mean?
Annealing is a NOUN..
Annealing is process in which metal, alloy, or other material are heating to a temperature, holding for a certain time, and then cooling to room temperature, done to improve ductility and reduce brittleness. This is used in industries before all the metal to be use.. Annealing is also done for reduce of internal stresses in metal and glass.Annealing is a chemical process.. |

Re: What does Annealing mean?
Annealing mean
Definition: Heating steel to, and holding at a suitable temperature, followed by relatively slow cooling. - The purpose of annealing may be to remove stresses, to soften the steel, to improve machinability, to improve cold working properties, to obtain a desired structure. -The annealing process usually involves allowing the steel to cool slowly in the furnace. |

1. (v.t.) anneal
to heat (glass, earthenware, metals, etc.) to remove or prevent internal stress. 2. anneal to free from internal stress by heating and gradually cooling. 3. anneal to toughen or temper. 4. anneal to recombine (nucleic acid strands) at low temperature after separating by heat. 5. anneal to fuse colors onto (a vitreous or metallic surface) by heating. Etymology: (bef. 1000; ME anelen, OE anæmacr;lan to kindle =an-on+æmacr;lan to burn, akin to āl fire) Definition of 'anneal' Princeton's WordNet 1. (verb) anneal, temper, normalize bring to a desired consistency, texture, or hardness by a process of gradually heating and cooling "temper glass" Definition of 'anneal' Webster Dictionary 1. (verb) anneal to subject to great heat, and then cool slowly, as glass, cast iron, steel, or other metal, for the purpose of rendering it less brittle; to temper; to toughen 2. (verb) anneal to heat, as glass, tiles, or earthenware, in order to fix the colors laid on them |
