There are basically three major defense forces in India:

• Indian Army
• Indian Air Force
• Indian Navy

Now, there are basically two ways to join these defense forces:

1. Through Combined Defense Service Examination conducted by Union Public Service Commission
   
2. Through recruitment procedure carried by each of these Defense Forces for all the branches and departments under them.

These Selection procedures, both, are conducted twice a year and for notification, one must refer to the official website the following:

Indian Army
