If you want to become a Custom Officer, then you are required to apply for UPSC Exam for the post of Indian Revenue Services when notification appears.

Eligibility
- You must be a citizen of India/Nepal/Bhutan.
- You must possess bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
- Your age must be between 21 to 32 years. Upper age relaxation available of 3 years to OBC and 5 years to SC/ST.
- Maximum permissible attempts are Six for General, Nine for OBC and No limits for SC/ST.

UPSC Application Fee
- Female, SC/ST, PH candidates are exempted from fees.
- Rs.100/- for Preliminary Exam
- Rs.200/- for Main Exam

Selection
- Preliminary Exam
- Main Exam
- Interview

Exam Pattern

Preliminary Exam
- General Studies Paper I : 200 Marks
- General Studies Paper II : 200 Marks

Main Exam
It consists of total 9 papers out of them 2 are qualifying papers and 7 are counted for ranking.

Paper A : One of Indian Language : 300 Marks
Paper B : English Language : 300 Marks

- Paper 1 : Essay : 250 Marks
- Paper 2 : General Studies 1 : 250 Marks
- Paper 3 : General Studies 2 : 250 Marks
- Paper 4 : General Studies 3 : 250 Marks
- Paper 5 : General Studies 4 : 250 Marks
- Paper 6 : Optional Subject 1 : 250 Marks
- Paper 7 : Optional Subject 2 : 250 Marks

Interview : 250 Marks

Tentative Dates
- Notification Release : May, 2018
- Preliminary Exam : June, 2018
- Result of Preliminary Exam : August, 2018
- Main Exam : October, 2018
- Result of Main Exam : March, 2019
- Interview : April/May, 2019
