Full form of OBC is other backward caste. This abbreviation usually appears in job notification as well as admission prospects. OBC candidates are reserved category candidates and can avail reservations. Reservations are usually offered during recruitment process, in percentage of marks obtained etc. These candidates are provided with 3 year age relaxation in most of the government recruitments.

If any oc student has put his destiney as IAS officer ,many other students have reservation but he doesn't it.then how he fulfill.

Full form of OBC is Other Backward Class.

In India casts are divided in various classes like-

General
OBC
SC
ST

In our nation Reservation is provided for different casts student. seats in college admission or other governments jobs are reserved for different country students.

In india 50% seats are for General category candidates and other 50% seats are reserved for other casts like OBC,SC/ST candidate. A general category student can not take place of SC/ST/OBC candidate but a SC/ST/OBC candidate can take place of General category candidate.

OBC is devided in two parts Creamy layers and Non Creamy layers. candidate whose family annual income is less than 6 lakh per year comes under Non Creamy layers and whose family income is over 6 lakh comes in Creamy layer.

Creamy layers candidate are considered as General category candidate.

1.OBC: Other Backward Class

2.OBC: Oriental Bank of Commerce

3.OBC:Over Betuwe College

To provide better facility in the field of education as well as job, the Government of India has categorised certain caste of persons in Other Backward class(OBC) like SC(Scheduled Caste) and ST(Scheduled tribe)

The Central Government of India classifies some of its citizens based on their social condition as Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Other Backward Class (OBC).

It also looks after matters relating to two institutions set up for the welfare of OBCs:

1.National Backward Classes Finance and Development Corporation (NBCFDC)

2.National Commission for Backward Classes (NCBC).

Present caste-based reservation system of Union Government:

1.Scheduled Castes (SC) Reservation percentage for SC catetgory as per Government of India is 15%.

2.Scheduled Tribes (ST) Reservation percentage for ST catetgory as per Government of India is 7.5%.

3.Other Backward Classes (OBC) Reservation percentage for OBC catetgory as per Government of India is 27%.

Total constitutional reservation percentage 49.5%

obc stands for other backward classes

obc students get 27% reserved seats in universities or in jobs,
obc students are allowed relaxation of generally 3 years in most of the govt exam as well as they are provided more chances for passing these govt exams than general students


the cut off marks for obc students are lesser than general candidates.
