Eligibility criteria for joining indian navy: The candidate should be a citizen of India. must be 12 th with pcm not less than 60% .Qualification-graduation from a recognized university. height should not less than 157 cm . but in technical branch height doesnot matter.

MEDICAL STANDARDS
(a) Height . The preferable height for a candidate of 18 years of age is 157 cm for males and 152 cm for females. (b) Weight . Table showing correlation between age, height and weight are given at for Male and Female candidates respectively. This is to be used as a guide making allowance for build as necessary. The criteria for selection should be general build of the body and proportionate development rather than rigid, adherence to the above standards. Overweight and Underweight individuals who are otherwise fit in every respect may be accepted at the discretion of the Recruiting Medical Officer / Medical Board. The weight should not however vary from the average by more than 10%. (c) Anthropometric Measurement . The acceptable anthropometric standard for aviation entries i.e Short Service Commission(Aviation & Observer) entry for both male and female are as follows:- Minimum Height-162.5 cm Sitting Height- Minimum 81.5 cm,Maximum-96.0 cm Leg Length – Minimum-99.0 cm,Maximum-120.0 cm Thigh Length-Maximum-64.0 *for the detailed height & weight data please go to the link follow:http://nausena-bharti.nic.in/officer7.php |

Dear Friend,
If you want to join The Indian Navy , then you have to crack any one fo the following examinations : * NDA Examination * CDS Examination. Both the NDA & THE CDS Examinations are conducted by the Union Public Service Commission for those candidates who are interested in joining the Indian Defense. Through the NDA Examination , the candidates can join the following wings : * Indian Army * Indian Navy * Indian Air Force On the other hand, through the CDS Examination , the candidates can join the following wings : * Indian Militant Academy * Naval Academy * Air Force Academy * Officer`s Training Academy If you have passed 12th with PCM from any recognized board and has not completed Graduation yet , then you can appear for the NDA Examination. But if you have completed graduation with Maths as one of the main subjects from any recognized university , then you are eligible to appear for the CDS Exam. Both these exams are conducted twice every year by the Union Public Service Commission. The Qualifications Required for NDA Examination are : * You must have passed 12th with PCM from any recognized board. * You can also appear in the NDA Exam if you are currently in standard 12th. * Your age should lie in between 16.5-19 years. * No Relaxation in upper age is given to Candidates. * You must be an unmarried male candidate as girls are not allowed to appear for the NDA Exam. * You must be an Indian Citizen. * Minimum Height Required for NDA Examination : The Qualifications Required For CDS Examination are : * You must have completed graduation in any stream from any recognized college/university. * You must have completed graduation with Maths as one of the main subjects. * You can also apply for the CDS Exam if you are in the final year of Graduation. * The Age Limit For CDS Examination is : 1) Naval Academy : 19-22 years 2) Air Force Academy : 19-23 years 3) Indian Militant Academy : 19-24 years 4) Officer`s Training Academy : 19-25 years * Both Male & Female candidates are allowed to appear for the CDS Exam. * The candidate must be a citizen of India. * The Minimum Height Required For CDS Exam : This is the information i have to the best of my knowledge regarding your query.
