JEE stands for Joint Entrance Examination. It is conducted by Central board of Secondary Education. On basis of JEE Main rank, admission to various engineering institute like National Institute of Technology, IIITs, and other government engineering college is given. Even private engineering college accept JEE Main rank for admission.

2. The rank required for admission in Mechanical engineering differs from NITs to NITs and other government engineering college. JEE Main is of 360 marks and if a candidate is able to score 260 plus marks in this exam, then he will definitely get admission in Mechanical engineering in top NITs. JEE Main rank is calculated on basis of JEE score and 10+2 percentage of marks.
