Probationary Officer is one of the post regularly advertised for bank recruitments, but many candidates do not know the work involved.

The nature of work of probationary officer depends on the specialization like nowadays bank is hiring specialist for P.O. post such as IT officer, Law officer, Agriculture officer etc.

But for basic P.O. job is to manage the operations such as loan, advances and others.
The bank job is very reputated and secure job.

Probationary officer (PO):


Probationary Officers exams conducted by Individual banks. Banks inducts eligible graduates by this exam for training for Probational period of two years.

The selected candidates performance during the probation period will decide their position after training.Different Banks recruit probationary officers during different periods in the year.

Selection Procedure based on the Written test(Objective & Descriptive) and Group Discussion and Interview.

First level to enter the Banking world Initially a probationary officer can be assigned any work from a wide gamut of ongoing banking activities.

Normally the period is of two years in which the officer is exposed to different types of banking related works.In some banks, the duration may be limited to one year.A Probationary Officer can reach up to the level of Chairman of a bank.
