what are the jobs available in civil engg in indian army

Being an Civil engineer you are eligible for the officer rank jobs in the defense field but for that you need to clear CDS examination.

CDS stands for Combined Defense Services and it has four wings which are Naval Academy ( NA ) , Indian Air force Academy ( IAF ), Indian Military (army ) Academy ( IMA ) and Officer's Training Academy ( OTA ).

To join CDS one has to clear CDS examination organised by UPSC twice every year in two stages which are known as Written examination and Service selection board interview respectively. Also the qualifications required for appearing in the same examination are as here under:-

* You must be an Indian resident.

* You must have a bachelor degree course with any discipline from a recognized university. But for NA & IAF wings you need to have your bachelor degree course with Physics/Mathematics/engineering course.

* Your age must be within 19 years to 22 years for NA, 19 years to 23 years for IAF, 19 years to 24 years for IMA and 19 years to 25 years.

* You must hold the physical and mental fitness as per the requirement norms.
