I want to know about the marking scheme of Uttar Pradesh Trained Graduate Teacher examination. Is there any negative marking as well? What is the passing criteria for this exam?

Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education Service Selection Board (UPSESSB) recruits PGT (Postgraduate Teachers) through entrance exam UP PGT. There will be negative marking of 0.25 mark for each wrong answer. UPSESSB will publish the cut off marks category wise and subject wise at the time of result declaration and it depends on factors number of vacancies, number of applicants, difficulty level of exam, performance of applicants etc. Cut Off marks may be between 65 to 80 marks for general category students and will be different for different subjects.

UP PGT Eligibility
- You must have passed master's degree in relevant subject with at least 55% marks in aggregate from a recognized university.
- Age Limit : 21 to 42 years. Upper age relaxation applicable for reserved categories.

Selection Weightage
- Written Test : 85%
- Interview : 10%
- Special Qualification : 5%

Written Exam Pattern
- Number of Questions : 200
- Total Marks : 200
- Duration : 2 Hours
- Each correct answer will carry 1 mark and each incorrect answer will deduct 0.25 mark.

- Online Application Starts : October, 2019
- Last Date of Application : 30th November, 2019
- Release Admit Card : 10 Days before Exam
- UP PGT Exam : May, 2020

- Result Declaration : December, 2020
