NPTI (National Power Training Institute) is basically famous for one year
Post Graduate Diploma Courses. Apart from PGD, it also offers B.E./B.Tech. and MBA courses.

There are six campuses of NPTI

PGD Course

If you have completed B.E. in Mechanical/ Electrical/ Power/ Electronics/
Control & Instrumentation Engineering then you can apply for PGD course.
The admission to PGD courses is done on the basis of merit in an entrance
test (PGD-CET) conducted by NPTI.

B.E./B.Tech.

The B.Tech. course in Power Engineering is offered at
NPTI Durgpur, NPTI Badarpur and NPTI Nagpur.

B.Tech. at NPTI Durgapur
Admission is done through AIEEE and WBJEE

B.Tech. at NPTI Badarpur
Admission is done through CET conducted by Indraprastha University.

B.Tech. at NPTI Nagpur
The admission is done through RTM Nagpur University.

National Power Training Institute (NPTI)

National Power Training Institute invites application from eligible candidates for admission to Post Graduate Diploma Course(PGDC) in Thermal Power Plant Engineering(TPPE).


• Eligibility Criteria for NPTI Admission 2012 :

> You must have completed B.Tech or B.E. or any equivalent in Mechanical/ Electrical/ Power/ Control & Instrumentation Engineering.

> You can also apply if appearing in the final year examination.

> You must submit your degree or provisional degree at the time of counseling.


• NPTI Admission Selection Procedure 2012 :

> It will be done on the basis of Merit on Common Entrance Test (CET) result followed by counseling.

• Age limit : For sponsored candidates -> No age limit
For non - sponsored candidates -> The age kimit as on 31st August, 2012 is 27 years.
♦ Age relaxation for reserved category is as per GOI norms.

CET entrance test will be held on 10th June, 2012 at these 8 cities :
Nagpur, Faridabad, Badarpur (New Delhi), Durgapur, Neyveli, Bangalore, Guwahati and Nangal.

NPTI Admission Eligibility Criteria 2012 :
Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical / Electrical & Electronics / Instrumentation Engineering
Age : Maximum 25 years as on 01st August, 2012.
NPTI Admission Procedure 2012 :
Candidates shall be short listed on the basis of marks obtained in the Qualifying Diploma ( Preferably 60% ) examination conducted by recognized college / Institute.
40 (Forty). 10% seats are reserved for sponsored category.
If seats remain vacant in this category then the same will be converted into non-sponsored Category.
Reservation for SC, ST, OBC ( non – creamy layer ) & PH will be applicable as per Government norms.
1) 1, 20,000/- ( in two equal installments ) for non – sponsored candidates
2) 1, 70,000/- ( in one installment ) for sponsored candidates.
NPTI Admission Fees :
1) 1, 20,000/- ( in two equal installments ) for non – sponsored candidates.
2) 1, 70,000/- ( in one installment ) for sponsored candidates.
Additional Fees : Caution deposit 2,000/-( Refundable ), Conveyance charges 2,400/-& Internet charges 1,200/- ( one time only ).

NPTI Admission Application on plain paper typed in English in the following format, or, downloaded NPTI Admission application from website : www.nptiguwahati.com/www.npti.in.
Along with the demand draft of 500/- in favour of "National Power Training Institute – NER" payable at Guwahati should reach the Director latest by 16th July, 2012 along with two recent passport size photographs.
Short listed candidates will be informed through email / phone / letter.
The fee should be paid at the time of admission through bank challan which may be downloaded from NPTI-NER website.
