Pass in 12th is enough to join Indian Army. But for this, you must be an unmarried male candidate. Your age must fall somewhere between 16 ½ and 19 years. Selection is done through NDA entrance exam conducted by UPSC. Additional details on exam pattern and eligibility can be collected from NDA exam notification.

Dear Lalan,

Its nice to see that you want to join the Indian Army. You can join the same at your earliest through the NDA Examination.

First of all i am surprised that how you can pass the 10th board exam if you have just 20% marks in English as a minimum of 33% marks is minimum in every subject.

Anyways , if you have passed 12th in any stream from any recognized board then you are eligible for the NDA Exam considering that your age should lie in between 165-19 yrs.

The Necessary Requisites for the NDA Exam are :

* The Minimum required educational qualification is 12th from any recognized board.

* The Minimum age limit is 16.5 years.

* The Maximum age limit is 19 years.

* No Relaxation in upper age is given to candidates from any category.

* Only Male candidates are eligible for the NDA Exam.

* The Candidate must be mentally and physically strong.

The UPSC Conducts the NDA Exam in three stages :

1) Written Test

2) SSB Interview

3) Medical Test

You have to pass all the three stages in order to pass the NDA Exam.

This is the information i have to the best of my knowledge regarding your query. Hope the information will help you to the extent you want.
