What are the Qualifications needed to become an IAS?...please tell me

Graduation is the basic qualification required for IAS. Candidates who have completed bachelor degree in any stream with 50% marks can appear for CSAT exam. Age of the candidate must be within 30 years. Age should exceed 21 years. No of attempts allowed for the test are 4.

HI!

After graduation with any stream from recognized University you can apply for I.A.S exam.

I.A.S exam is conducted by U.P.S.C once in a year.
I.A.S exam is commonly known as Civil Services Exam.
Civil services exam is form many govt. services like:-
> Indian Police Services
> Indian Administrative Services
> Indian Foreign Services
> Indian Revenue Services


Age should be in between 21-30 year. For ST/SC candidate age should be in between 21-33 year.

You can apply online or offline.
The Form cost is just 50 Rs.

IAS(Indian Administrative Service) exam is conducted by the UPSC(Union Public Service Commission) only one time in a year.

Eligibility criteria:-

You should be complete graduation or an bachelor's degree from a recognised university.

The candidate must be a citizen of india.

Final year persuing candidates can also be eligible for this exam.

There is no required percentage to appear this exam.

Age criteria:-

For General candidates 21 years to 30years,

For OBC candidates 21 years to 33years,

For SC/ST candidates 21 years to 35 years.

For PH OBC candidates 21 years to 40years.


Number of Attempts:-

4 times for general candidates,

7 times OBC candidates,

IAS -INDIAN ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICE, to become an IAS officer the candidate has to apply, appear and crack Civil Service Exam conducted by UPSC once every year.

Eligibility for Civil Service Exam:-

-The candidate must be an Indian National
-Should have either appeared for the final Graduation Degree exam or passed in any stream of education from a recognised University.
-Should be within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for SC/ST candidate up to 5 years and up to 3 years for OBC candidate.

The selection is through two stages of written exam:-

-CSAT - Civil Service Aptitude Test - Preliminary Exam
-Civil Service Main Exam

The eligible candidate applying for Civil Service exam are calle for the CSAt exam and the candidate selected out of it is called for the Civil Service Main Exam.

The final Selection is through personal Interview out of the candidate selected through Main Exam.

21-30 years as on 1.7.2012. (Upper age limit relaxable for SCs/STs, OBCs and certain other categories as specified in Para 3(ii) of Notice).
(ii) Educational Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree of a recognised university with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physcs, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Enginerring or an equivalent qualification (Para 3(iii) of Notice).
