The recruitment for the post of Tahsildar is made by respective Public Service Commissions of each state.So,to get the post of Tahsildar in Maharashtra,you have to appear in the MPSC(Maharashtra Public Service Commission) exam.
The qualification required for the post of Tahsildar are as under :- -The candidate should have Bachelor Degree in Law from a recognized Institution/University. -The candidate must have working experience in Revenue and Land Acquisition works of at least two years . - The maximum age limit to apply for the post is 65 years.There is relaxation in age limit as per the rules for reserved categories. The tahsildar pay scale is Rs. 9300-34800 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 4200. The selection process is based on the written test and interview.. Tahsildar Exam consists of 8 papers. Paper 1 : Land Revenue Acts and Rules Paper 2 : Arithmetic and Patwaris Mensuration Paper 3 : Minor Revenue Acts and Rules Paper 4 : Hindi (In Devnagri Script) Paper 5 : Criminal Law and Procedure Paper 6 : Revenue Case Paper 7 : Local and Special Laws Paper 8 : Local Funds, Treasury and Financial Rules |

If the candidate have bachelor degree other than law can apply for the post of Tahsildar.
