If your complete your graduation in commerce stream with minimum 55% percentage of marks then you directly apply for Intermediate course . If your belong science stream candidate then you should score minimum 60% percentage of marks to apply for Intermediate course . ICAI:- Charted Accountant of India . It is an professional course . The duration of the course is for three years and the course is divided into Foundation course , Intermediate course , Final course . To apply for Foundation course you complete 12th standard in any discipline from recognized university . You have to crack the CPT Examination with good percentage of marks . To apply for Intermediate course you should complete Bachelor degree from recognized university . Minimum percentage of marks :- -For Commerce stream candidates 55% percentage of marks -For Science stream candidates 60% percentage of marks . You have complete your graduation with 59% percentage of marks . So If your belong commerce stream then your eligible to apply for Intermediate course . If your belong from science stream then you may qualified in CPT Examination then only your eligible to apply for Intermediate course . CPT :- Common Proficiency Test . This Examination is conducted by the Indian Institution of Charted Accountant of India . If your interested to apply for this Examination then you should complete 12th standard with minimum 50% percentage of marks . Final year candidate may also eligible to apply for this Examination . So, After complete your CPT Examination then you may eligible to apply for Foundation course . |

The eligibility criteria for the CA exam is as under-
1. Candidate who has passed the 10th examination can register for the Common Proficiency Test (CPT) of the CA programme. But they can write the examination only after passing the Senior Secondary Examination (10+2) or waiting for the 10+2 exam results. 2. There are no restrictions with regard to the age of the candidate or marks secured in Senior Secondary Examination. 3. Eligibility for exemption from CPT. Commerce graduates with 50% marks Non-commerce graduates with 55% marks (without maths) Non-commerce graduates with Maths with 60%. and are permitted to register for Integrated Professional Competence Course (IPCC). 4. Candidates who have passed the Final Examination conducted by the Institute of Cost & Works Accountants of India (ICWAI) or the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) can register for Professional Competency Course. Course The CA course has been divided into three stages- 1. Competency Professional Test (CPT) 2. Professional Competency Course (PCC) 3. Chartered Accountants are entrusted with substantial responsibility under various legislation's sucha as compulsory audit of all the companies,banks,stock brokers,big income-tax assesses,large bank borrowers,etc. Charted Accountant is one who is specialized in accounting and taxation. He also serves as management and corporate caretaker.CA Programme is of two years from the training period. Eligibility A Candidate who has passed the 10th examination can register for the Competency Professional Test (CPT) of the CA programme. But they can write the examination only after passing the Senior Secondary Examination (10+2) or waiting for the 10+2 exam results. There are no restrictions with regard to the age of the candidate or marks secured in Senior Secondary Examination. Commerce graduates with 50% marks, non-commerce graduates with subjects other than Mathematics with an aggregate of 55% marks and non-commerce graduates with Maths with an aggregate of 60% marks are exempted from the Competency Professional Test (CPT) and are permitted to register for Professional Competency Course (PCC). After passing Professional Competency Course, the candidates can register as Articled clerks for practical training and for admission to the Final course of the Chartered Accountant. Every graduate above18 years of age is eligible to register as an articled clerk/Audit Clerks for Chartered Accountancy. Computer Training Programme is compulsory for the candidates who wish to register themselves as auditor clerk. CA stands for charted accountant of india, it is conducted by institute of charted accountant of india, for ca minimum qualification is class 12th from a recognized board there is no marks requirement for ca as you are a graduate you need to score minimum 55% in graduation for direct entry in ipcc course of ca , cpt will be exempted for you as you have more than 55% in graduation, for science and arts stream students need 60% in graduation for ipcc direct entry, if you have less than 55%/60% marks in graduation then you will have to clear cpt for ipcc, as you have more than 55% marks in b.com you should get registered with icai for ipcc course, all the best |

Hello Friend,
There are two options to do CA Course - One is Direct Entry Scheme i.e direct IPCC without passing CPT and another is IPCC after Passing CPT (Step by Step) In first Condition one have at 55% in B.com and 60% in other graduation stream after completing Graduation one should registered for IPCC Exam. Before appearing in IPCC Exam one should Complete the following :- 1. Graduation 2. Information Technology Training 3. Orientation Progarmme 4. At least Nine Month Article-ship Another option is After Passing CPT Exam :- Process:- 10+2-CPT-IPCC-Orientation Programme-Information Technology Training-Articleship-Final Exam. All The Best. |

I have joined CPT course in 2010 June and attended the CPT exam once - I have completed my Msc with 60% - Am I eligible for the Inter Exams without CPT? Can I use the same CA course fee for the Inter Exam?
