What is the requirement for IPS test?

First of all to tell about the IPS exam it is conducted by UPSC for candidates to join in for the post of IPS Officer and it stands for Indian Police Service.

As asked what are the requirements needed for the IPS Exam they are:

-> Nationality

-> Age Limit

-> Education Qualification

-> Physical Standard

You need to satisfy them all in order to apply for the IPS exam to join in as IPS Officer,

To tell in description about the criteria's i have mentioned them below for your reference:

Nationality:

~ You need to be a citizen of India

Age Limit:

~ The age limit needed for the IPS exam is 21-30 years for candidates of General Category

~ The candidates of OBC should have 21-33 years and for SC/ST it is 21-35 years

~ If you are a Ex-service men then you get 5 years exception from the prescribed limits.

Education Qualification:

~ The candidate appearing for the exam must have completed a degree from a recognized university with fair percentage.

~ Even final year candidate is eligible for the IPS exam

Physical Standard:

The candidate who is satisfying all these above mentioned criteria is eligible for applying for the IPS exam


To tell about the notification for the IPS exam it is over as the date of submission of form is over,so wait till the notification i.e 2013

IPS means Indian Police Service and the exam conducted for the same is known as a Civil Service Examination. Civil Service Examination is conducted by Union Public Service Commission and to be eligible for it, you must possess a bachelors degree awarded by a recognized university. There is neither any restriction regarding the stream nor there is any percentage criteria to be considered eligible for Civil Service Examination. If you are a graduate, you can write Civil Service Examination but apart from being a graduate, you should be within the age limit of 21-30 years. 30 years is t5he maximum age limit for candidates belonging to General Category, however, for candidates belonging to OBC category, the maximum age limit is 33 years and for SC/ST category, it is 35 years.

The Civil Service Examination is held once a year and the first stage of the same, i.e. civil service preliminary exam has already been conducted and the next phase of the examination has been scheduled in the month of October 2012. Candidate who qualifies the preliminary examination are only allowed to appear for the next stages of the examination known as Main Exam which comprise of written test as well as interview.

In order to appear for the Civil Service Examination 2013, you will have to wait till the notification for the same is published by the commission on its official website as well as in India's major newspapers.

IPS : Stands for the Indian Police Service

for which the union public service commission is conducting a exam every year in which the both of the posts include the ias as well as the ips post too and you have to clear the exam if you want to join as a ips officer and the exam have three stages first will be the written exam and after that their will be a second stage mains exam and lst one is the final interview.

For the exam the candidate should be pass in the graduation degree from a recognized university and the candidate of final year can also apply for it but just need a pass degree in the graduation.the age for the exam required is 21-30 and the age relaxation for the obc is 3 years and sc,st 5 years and ph 10 years and number of attempts allowed for the obc is 7 and sc,st unlimited and for general 4

It is nice that you want to join IPS exam.

You can join IPS exam after graduation. IPS exam stands for Indian police service which is conducted by upsc.

Eligibility;-

1)you must be graduate from a recognized university in any stream. There is no percentage requirement.

2)General age limit is 21-30 years. Age relaxation is given to reserved category students.

3)you must be Indian citizen.

4)you must be physically fit.

The IPS exam is conducted every year by UPSC and the eligibility for it is:
