what is the selection criteria for ESE & what is the cutoff marks in ESE in civil engineering branch.

ESE stands for Engineering Services examination or it is also called Indian Engineering Services. Every engineering candidate want to join Engineering services due to its job security, career profile and salary and reputation along with social recognition. It is a tough exam and involves various stages. Recently the pattern for IES exam was changed which is effective from 2017.

Now, it will consists of three stages, Preliminary, Mains and interview. In preliminary examination, there will be two papers, one of general ability and other of engineering discipline test. In Mains also, there will be two papers of general ability and engineering disciplines test. Marks of both preliminary and mains will be added to select candidates for interview.

On this pattern, first time examination will be conducted in 2017, so there is no cut off marks available.
