What is static ip and dynamic ip ?....please tell me the complete information for the same

An IP address identifies a computer or other device to a network. Every device on a network needs to have its own address for identifying it for data transfer.
Static IP: The ip which is assigned to your computer manually which is permanent unless anybody changes it.

Dynamic IP: Assigned through DHCP(Dynamic Host configuration Protocol) Server. It may change frequently.Purely depends on the DHCP server.Dynamic IP is used in large network for the ease of configuration and management.
