What is the upper age limit for UPSC and IAS exams?
If a person appearing for BA 3rd year from IGNOU and age is now 55 years then can he/she appear for UPSC or IAS examination? Any age relaxation for any caste category?

Re: What is the upper age limit for UPSC and IAS exams?
The age limit to appear in the Civil Services examination (often known as IAS examination or UPSC examination) held by UPSC is 21 years to 32 years in case of general category candidates. Further, there is provision of age relaxation for candidates belonging to reserved category as per the government norms.
So, being 55 years old, you are not eligible to appear in the Civil Services examination even if you belong to the category which avails the benefit of upper age limit relaxation as no candidate is given a age relaxation of around 24 years. For more details regarding the Civil Services examination, you can refer to the link www.upsc.gov.in. |
