It depends on the education board in which you are studying. Some boards have rules that you have to pass in any 5 subjects to pass the exam and some require you to pass in each and every subject. If the additional subject is not compulsory then you will not face any problem. If it is compulsory then you have to appear for a compartment exam to clear the subject. After passing you will be declared passed the board.

As you are sure of failing in one subject, I would suggest you to keep practicing at least important questions as you never know the questions you have prepared might be hit the bull’s eye.

But talking about failing in one subject, effects of getting failed in one subject will increase the length of the duration to complete your schooling and it will hamper your admission and other selections in future.

Student who have appeared for more than subjects set by ISC are not able to pass with pass certificates are permitted to re appear for the examination only once in the year but not thereafter.

But it will not be entertained thereafter without further attendance in affiliated and registered school.

If you have fail in one additional subject out of six subjects, then there will no problem to you.

As ISC only consider 5 best percentile subject for the calculation of total marks.

So, there is no harm for you if you fail in one subject. ISC will not consider that subject while calculating your final Percentile.

According to the ISC Examination rules, the student should not fail in English which is a compulsory subject to pass the Intermediate exam. If the student gets fail in English, he will be declared as Fail in the 10+2 Exam.

Apart from this, if the student gets fail in the subject other than English, his status will be declared as pass with compartment in that subject.

For which, the student can fill compartment form from the school with the permission of school authority.

Failing in one subject will not lead you into trouble since ISC calculate your best five percentile subject. But if you fail in important subjects like Hindi , English , Maths then you might face problem in your near future when you will be going for an interview then you might face first question that what is the reason for your failure in one subject . Then there you will regret of being a passed out student but still failure in your future . So i would suggest you not think in a negative manner , but rather think of scoring good marks in all subject because these marks will lead you to great success in you future .
