The common proficiency test is conducted twice a year by Institute of Chartered Accountants of India:
In the month of June
In the month of December

The same is applicable for the CPT 2012. The notification regarding the upcoming CPT has not been yet published but it's definite that it will be conducted in the month of June and thereafter, in the month of December, 2012.
