I am married women. What is the criteria to apply for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) certificate? How can I apply for it? Which all documents would be required? Income certificate would also be required?

The benefits of reservation under EWS (Economically Weaker Section) can be availed only if you have valid "Income and Asset Certificate" issued by competent authority. For getting that certificate, you need to apply to concerned authority with all supporting documents. After getting verification and approval, concerned authority will issue the certificate.

Eligibility for EWS Certificate
- You must belong to general category.
- Your family has gross annual income must be below Rs. 8 Lakh.
- Your family must not possess agricultural land size above 5 acres.
- Your family must not possess residential area having size more than 1000 sq.ft.
- Your family must not possess residential plot having size 100 sq.yards in area of notified municipalities.
- Your family must not possess residential plot having size 200 sq.yards in area other than notified municipalities.

- Sub-divisional officer of residing area
