I am studying in standard 8th and there is no NCC in our school. So, can I join NCC as a private candidate? Where can I join NCC in Pune? What is the application procedure? Any cost?

Yes, you can join NCC directly by contacting the NCC Officer who responsible to select the candidate. This program is completely voluntary. However, NCC requires a lot of field work like, camping etc. So, you would need to get a letter from your school of "No Obejction" certificate.

There is no fee to join NCC. However, a small amount is taken as token money for early Regimental subscription and Cadet Welfare Society contribution.

You can join NCC in following institutes of Pune.

• University of Pune
• Symbiosis Institute

As you are in 8th standard now, so you will be joining Junior Divison/Wing (Boys/Girls) of NCC.

To be eligible for joining NCC, you must be:

• Citizen of India or a subject of Nepal
• Having good moral character
• Qualify medical standards
• Studying in Educational institution

As you are in Junior Division, so you will have to apply to the Headmaster of the school providing the unit. You need to fill up Form II.
